PM Offers Employment to Families of Fallen Soldiers in Kampong Speu Tragedy

Phnom Penh, 06 May, 2024: Prime Minister Hun Manet has extended a compassionate gesture, announcing the provision of military employment opportunities for the relatives of the 20 soldiers who tragically lost their lives in the munitions depot explosion in Kampong Speu province's 3rd Military Zone on April 27, 2024.

Taking to his social media account on the afternoon of May 6, 2024, Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his heartfelt response to a request from Chea Samnang Raksmey Satya, son of the late Lieutenant Colonel Chea Samnang, a victim of the aforementioned incident. In his post, the Prime Minister stated, "I have acknowledged the appeal from my nephew Reaksmey Satya, seeking an opportunity to join the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and carry forward his father's legacy. I wholeheartedly support his aspiration."

In a gesture of solidarity and support, Prime Minister Hun Manet has not only facilitated employment for Mr. Raksmey Satya but has also pledged positions for the relatives of all 20 fallen soldiers, including their children, grandchildren, or siblings, allowing them to continue the noble tradition of service within the armed forces, inheriting the mantle from their departed loved ones.

This announcement comes as a compassionate response to the heartfelt intentions expressed by Chea Samnang Raksmey Satya, who, despite his personal loss, seeks to honor his father's memory while providing for his family's well-being.
